In the wide savannahs of Africa, there are two tenacious rivals who frequently take food from others and ᴋɪʟʟ the other young animals. These animals include hyenas and African lions.
African lions typically drop completely fatigued after ᴋɪʟʟing their prey, thus they require some time to rest and collect their breath before feeding. Between those two occurrences, the hyenas also discover fresh ʙʟᴏᴏᴅ and begin to consume it. The hyenas’ determination to ғɪɢʜᴛ for the food is greater than that of even these gigantic cats.
The only advantage these hyenas have is that the lions are sufficiently exhausted after a ᴋɪʟʟ or ʜᴜɴᴛ, and hyenas are always in big packs. Hyena ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋs on lions are often carried out in packs so that the hyenas may easily outnumber the lions.
Despite being perceived as huge creatures, hyenas present certain difficulties for lions. The main driving force behind this kind of rivalry is food. The problem is that these two species are in direct conflict with one another since they ʜᴜɴᴛ comparable animal remains, consume almost the same amount of land, and pursue the same prey. The winner of the battle is awarded a sumptuous meal.
