Donkeys are herbivores, but possess a volatile and extremely persistent temperament. This often costs predators for believing their somewhat taciturn appearance.
In a video filmed by tourists at a suburban farm, the donkey can be seen as undefeated as its rival, a hyena. On the contrary, it taught this obnoxious predator a lesson for life.
The video begins with the hyena trying to approach and grab the donkey’s tail to gain an advantage, thereby causing the prey to lose the initiative. However, the donkey quickly realized this intention.
With the advantage of height, and especially the very long snout, the donkey managed to escape the control, and then used his jaw to bite the hyena’s ear.
The bite caused the animal pain, but it was unable to escape because the donkey held its teeth very firmly. With a shorter snout, the hyena also has no way of touching the opponent, and can only struggle in despair.
The donkey’s tenacity excites viewers. Few of them believed that a herbivore could be so powerful. Even more surprising when the donkey’s opponent, the hyena, is one of the fiercest hunters on the steppe. In some cases, hyenas even intimidate cheetahs and lions.
