One of the biggest predators in the wild is the tiger. Because they can ʜᴜɴᴛ on their own rather than in packs like lions, tigers are the most ғᴇᴀʀed of all predators. Tigers rely more on their senses of hearing and sight than their sense of smell when pursuing prey. They sᴛᴇᴀʟthily approach their victim from behind to get as near to the unwary prey as they can. Then they attempt to ᴍᴜʀᴅᴇʀ their prey by viciously biting its neck or throat. These large cats are renowned for taking their time and for stalking prey for half an hour before striking.
In the video below which was captured at Bandipur National Park, the massive tiger charged into a sizable herd of wild buffalo alone. The tiger ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋed the adversary’s neck forcefully after his initial effort failed and he was knocked to the ground by a wild buffalo. The wild buffalo passed out and slumped in less than a minute, lying motionless.
Two additional buffaloes moved forward to try to save their comrade but were unsuccessful. Even buffalos were sᴛᴀʀᴛʟᴇd by the tiger’s hasty approach. The tiger also moved backward at one point, making a show of fleeing when the wild buffalo charged.
Because it was aware that the buffalo herd would have to leave its wounded fellow, the tiger didn’t seem to be in a rush. The wild buffalo that are currently on the ground will then be considered as a reward for him.
