On the Congo River in western Central Africa, many fishermen saw a giant fish eating a crocodile. This fish is also aggressive towards humans. Therefore, Jeremy Wade – a British biologist decided to hunt down this ‘water monster’.
Indeed, he caught fish with extremely sharp teeth weighing more than 45 kg and 1.5 m long. It is a giant tiger fish (scientific name is Hydrocynus goliath). This is the largest freshwater fish in the world with an average size of up to 1.5 meters and a weight of 50 kg.
However, the largest individual weighing up to 70 kg was caught in the Congo River (according to Fishing-worldrecords). This fish has 32 sharp teeth and is about the size of a great white shark (according to Dailytelegraph) and the ferocity far exceeds that of the Piranha.
Wade said, with these teeth, an adult tiger fish can completely eat any creature of its size or attack both crocodiles and humans. Therefore, the giant tiger fish is considered one of the most dangerous freshwater fish.
