Buffaloes are famous for their strength and solidarity, although they are the favorite food of lions, they are not always captured. A herd of wild buffalo has just had a wonderful rescue of 2 members of the herd from a ferocious lion.

This amazing fight happens in Sand River on MalaMala Game Reserve. The footage has been captured superbly on Youtube and is going viral with over 2m viewers.

In the video, the buffaloes are moving to new fields with more food for the whole herd when they are suddenly ambushed by lions. Lions are quite clever when it comes to separating injured buffaloes and newborn buffaloes from the herd.

Then it’s time for them to attack a target and knock it down as quickly as possible. In the blink of an eye they had captured a newborn buffalo and were trying to end its life.

The other lions do the job of driving other buffaloes away. The herd of buffaloes, who were in a running position, suddenly returned at the command of a leading buffalo and successfully rescued the newborn buffalo.

The lion still did not give up and decided to hunt a larger buffalo that was stuck while running. But the other buffaloes were much more angry, rushing to attack the lion immediately.

In the end the lion was scared to be left behind and starved because the food was gone.
