In Yala National Park in Sri Lanka, a mother water buffalo and calves were grazing when suddenly a Sri Lankan leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) rushed out and attacked from the bushes.

The large leopard took aim at the calves and quickly dragged the calves towards the bushes despite the large horns of the mother buffalo rushing towards it. Calves are easily pulled away by predators showing the fearsome power of the leopard.

The leopard tried to drag her victim into the bushes to make it difficult for the mother to rescue, but the mother buffalo was able to protect her baby. Leopards quickly fled after this failed attack.
