The giant African eagle swooped down and caught the super-large lizard in a split second

Even though martial eagles are the biggest eagles in Africa, pursuing one of the continent’s biggest reptiles is still difficult. Rodney Nombekana, a 43-year-old safari and photography guide, is well-known for his safari excursions and in-depth familiarity with the wildlife in the Kruger National Park. He shares his excitement with his customers on every journey.

He was able to capture the amazing sight of Africa’s greatest eagle hauling down and devouring a monitor lizard during one of his safaris. He asserted that he went on a safari drive to Ngotso in order to search for the local leopards and the Ngotso lion pride. Since he was the only one they could find, they sat and observed the Ngotso male lion for a considerable amount of time. During the sighting, Trevor, one of his friends, spotted a martial eagle that had just captured a monitor lizard!

It was stunning and unlike anything he had ever seen before. The eagle, not the lion, was the focus of all the cameras despite the fact that there were two amazing interactions in the same region. After spending over an hour watching the conflict, he led his visitors to their preferred location, Timbavati Picnic Spot, where he served breakfast.

The eagle was still attempting to get rid of the lizard when they returned from breakfast. A total of five hours passed before the lizard finally gave up; it was then that the eagle made the grab. The eagle was left alone to complete its well-earned feast after they left.
