The lion diligently digs the boar burrow for two hours in exchange for a hearty meal of a fat pig

The footage that follows was shot at South Africa’s Pondoro Game Lodge. When a lioness found the warthog’s den, she started to dig.

This is an extremely uncommon sight because, in the wild, lions often hunt in packs, focusing on huge herbivores to supply the needs of the entire herd.

Although lions are not a choosy species and are willing to attack any animal, they do not excel at digging the earth before crawling into a little tunnel to hunt.

The lion did, however, eventually remove the prey from the den and consume a substantial meal.
