The incident was recorded in a village in Surat Thani province, Thailand. According to local media, a man was driving through a dry canal near the village when he spotted a large crocodile. This person immediately informed the villagers of the presence of the scary animal.
It is known that the location where the crocodile was discovered is only about 100 meters from the village. Soon, many young men in the village gathered to surround the crocodile. After a while of struggling, they were able to tie the rope and tie the animal up. Due to the weight of the crocodile so large, it took 10 healthy people to pull it ashore and put it on the truck. Fortunately, no one was injured during the capture of the crocodile.
The captured crocodile was identified as a saltwater crocodile, weighing up to 480kg and more than 4m long. The animal was then taken to the Thai Fisheries Research and Development Center for care before being released back into the sea.
The saltwater crocodile is the largest living reptile in the world. Males average 5 m long and weigh about 500 kg. They can spend days or weeks adrift at seas and along rivers, hunting along the route. They can eat fish, mammals, and birds, but will kill anything they come across, including sharks and humans.
Before that, a Malaysian boy was also attacked by a saltwater crocodile, pulled from the boat right in front of his father’s eyes. The traces of both the boy and this saltwater crocodile have not been found yet.
