While exploring the Londolozi wildlife park in South Africa, photographer Sergey Gorshkov spotted a herd of hungry lions surrounding a wild buffalo weighing about 600kg.
A lion jumps on the back of a buffalo to take down its prey, while other lions surround it.
But the buffalo did not give in easily. It tries to knock the lion down, while roaring to scare the predators around.
When the lion’s siege loosened, the buffalo quickly ran into the nearby waterhole.
The buffalo’s efforts finally saved it from the hungry lions.
