The eagle is known as the king of the sky and it is always the main character for great videos for the suspenseful and classy hunting scenes.
A Martial Eagle appeared to surf on the back of a monitor lizard in the Kruger National Park in South Africa. This unusual video was captured by Ronald Stubbs.
Martial eagles are the largest African eagles. Their Talons are so powerful that they can break a man’s arm and their wingspan can reach 2.6m.
“The martial eagle had caught the monitor lizard and was waiting for it to die so that it could fly off with it while it’s juvenile was calling from nearby for the food”, says Stubb about the encounter that lasted about 30 minutes. “It was fantastic!”, he said.
The Nile monitor lizard, which measured an estimated 1.5m, was eventually killed by the eagle who flew off with its prey.
