A pack of mischievous monkeys was accidentally caught off guard when a sleeping tiger jumped out of nowhere. 39-year-old industrialist Narayan Malu witnessed this rare sight. The recorded footage and stories were shared with me.
We were waiting near a waterhole, while a bunch of langoor monkeys were lying around. Go about their day. They regularly visit these waterholes to drink water and consume the various foods offered in the vicinity.
Then, from the corner of my eye, I noticed a slight movement. Upon closer inspection, I was pleased to see that it was the resident tigress. She was carefully shielded and hidden under the foliage surrounding the waterhole. My hopes aren’t high for any action, however, I’m mentally prepared and have my gear ready.
Suddenly we noticed a tiger stalking them. Immediately, the tigress pounced on the unsuspecting monkey and dealt a fatal blow. Then the tiger carried his reward into the foliage and started eating the monkey.
As the chaos unfolded, the entire forest echoed the howls and hisses of confused monkeys. This lasted for a brief moment, and then, as if nothing had happened, the forest fell silent again.
The panorama was recorded at the famous Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, located in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
